Refunds and Cancellation

How refunds and cancellation work for anything you pay Placet.

Supporter subscription , $9/month

You can cancel your Placet supporter subscription at any time. Two ways:

  1. Self-serve link in the receipt of any Placet payment. The Stripe-hosted billing portal lets you cancel, update payment method, and download invoices.
  2. Send a request through our contact form from the email address on your account. We process the cancellation the same business day.

When cancellation takes effect: your subscription ends at the close of the current billing period. You keep access until then. You will not be charged again.

Refunds: Placet does not pro-rate or refund the unused portion of a billing period. If you were charged in error, or if you cancelled but were billed again, email us and we'll refund the affected charge.

Donations (pay what you can)

Donations to Placet are voluntary contributions, not purchases of goods or services. Placet is not a registered 501(c)(3) charity, so donations are not tax-deductible.

Donations are non-refundable except in two cases:

  • You were charged in error (wrong amount, duplicate charge).
  • Required by applicable law.

To request a refund, send a note through our contact form within 30 days of the charge and include the Stripe receipt ID.

Chargebacks

If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first. We respond within one business day and resolve almost everything that way. Chargebacks filed without contacting us make it harder to keep Placet free for everyone.
