Terms of Use
These Terms are designed to make the service posture explicit: Placet aggregates public and third-party information, but users must verify facility details directly before making clinical, placement, or business decisions.
Last updated: March 10, 2026
1. Scope
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Placet website, data products, referral tools, educational content, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Informational Service Only
The Service is an informational data-aggregation and workflow tool. It is not medical advice, nursing advice, discharge planning advice, legal advice, insurance advice, or a substitute for direct facility confirmation or professional judgment.
3. Data Sources and Technical Limits
The Service aggregates and organizes information from public government datasets, public facility web pages, public business listings, and user-submitted content. Data may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, unavailable, misclassified, stale, or inaccurate because of source changes, technical errors, parsing issues, sync delays, outages, or user submissions.
4. Verification Required
You are responsible for independently verifying any information that could affect a patient, family, facility, payer, or placement decision, including bed availability, clinical capabilities, staffing, payer acceptance, contact information, ownership, ratings, citations, and program status.
5. No Warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uptime, or uninterrupted availability.
6. No Placement or Outcome Guarantee
We do not guarantee referral response times, admission decisions, placement success, payer authorization, transportation, clinical suitability, or any patient or business outcome resulting from use of the Service.
7. User Content
If you submit community notes, debriefs, referral details, or other content, you represent that the submission is lawful, accurate to the best of your knowledge, and does not include protected health information unless expressly authorized by applicable law and our workflow. You must not submit defamatory, misleading, harassing, or confidential third-party content.
8. Removal and Corrections
We may remove, restrict, or edit content; suspend features; or correct listings at any time. We do not guarantee that any requested correction, removal, or update will occur within a particular timeframe.
9. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to scrape in bulk without permission, interfere with site operations, reverse engineer protected systems, send spam, impersonate others, upload malicious content, or use the Service in violation of law, confidentiality obligations, or professional duties.
10. Third-Party Links and Sources
The Service may link to CMS, facility websites, maps, email systems, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, systems, policies, or availability.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any soul of data, revenue, business, goodwill, referrals, admissions, or patient opportunities arising out of or related to the Service, including from data errors, omissions, downtime, stale information, or user reliance on the Service.
12. Your Responsibility
You remain solely responsible for your own clinical, operational, legal, and business decisions and for confirming the suitability of any facility, service line, or placement option before acting.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service operators and their personnel from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your submissions, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the revised version on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
