By accessing or using the Placet website, mobile experience, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Placet.
2. Service Description
Placet is a facility comparison platform that aggregates and displays publicly available data from CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) datasets , including Nursing Home Compare, IRF Compare, Home Health Compare, and Hospice Compare , to help users research post-acute care options.
We facilitate introductions between users and facilities through inquiry forms. These introductions are not referrals, placements, or admissions recommendations. We are not:
- A healthcare provider or medical advisor
- A licensed placement agency or referral service
- An agent of any facility listed on the platform
- A payer, insurer, or financial advisor
3. Data Accuracy
All facility data is sourced from CMS public datasets and updated periodically, but is not guaranteed to be real-time, accurate, or complete. Data may be delayed, incomplete, outdated, or contain errors due to CMS reporting cycles, technical issues, or sync delays. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any information , including bed availability, clinical capabilities, staffing ratios, payer acceptance, ownership, ratings, and program status , before making any placement, clinical, or business decision. Our proprietary scoring and analysis is based on this same public data and reflects our interpretation at the time of calculation.
4. Intellectual Property
The underlying CMS facility data displayed on Placet is public domain. However, our analysis, scoring methodology, quality indices, presentation, and platform design are proprietary to Placet and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without written permission. The Placet name, logo, and brand elements are trademarks of Placet.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy facility data without prior written permission from Placet

- Use the Service in violation of applicable law, professional licensing requirements, or confidentiality obligations
- Submit content that is defamatory, fraudulent, harassing, or in violation of third-party rights
6. User-Submitted Content

You acknowledge that inquiry content may be forwarded to the relevant facility or operator as part of the facilitated introduction. We may remove or edit any submitted content at our discretion.
6A. Subscriptions, Donations, and Billing
(a) Supporter subscription. Placet offers an optional $9/month supporter subscription. When you subscribe, you authorize Placet to charge your payment method $9.00 USD on a recurring monthly basis, on the day of the month corresponding to your initial purchase, until you cancel.
