The 2026 Facility Stability Report:
Tracking Nursing Staff Turnover
A beautiful lobby means little if the clinical staff is constantly changing. Using CMS data, we compiled a list of facilities with high Registered Nurse (RN) turnover rates.
Important Notice: All data presented in this report is sourced directly and exclusively from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) public datasets. Placet makes no independent claims regarding the safety or quality of any facility. This data represents a snapshot of government records and should be verified via CMS.gov.
Understanding 12-Month Turnover Data
Care Continuity
High RN turnover means residents are frequently cared for by temporary or agency staff who may be unfamiliar with their specific clinical needs.
Burnout Indicator
Extremely high turnover is often a leading indicator of an unsustainable clinical environment or inadequate staffing ratios.
CMS Tracking
CMS tracks the percentage of nursing staff that stopped working at the facility over a 12-month period to measure workforce stability.
